Brandon
Bates started announcing when he was 17
years old. He has been announcing professionally for
the last five years. At age 25, Brandon announced his
first PBR World Finals in 2003. Bates affirmed,
“Being able to go to all the events is a premier
job.”
Brandon
Bates is top of his game. This 27 year old Oklahoman has one of
the most recognizable voices in western sports.
When it comes to the world’s premier rodeos and bull ridings it is very likely he will be the man
behind the microphone navigating you through the
action. Brandon is the full time live voice of the
Professional Bull Riders’ Tour which can be seen
weekly on the cable network known as Versus
(formerly OLN) and on Network Television such as NBC
and FOX. Bates is also a voice talent and on camera
personality for numerous television shows as well.
You may catch him on the Outdoor Channel as a Pro
Staffer for Rocky Boots television show, Rocky Boots
Geared Up. With experience as a host and reporter,
Bates may be seen at number of sporting events
across the country.
Brandon has a
schedule that will carry him into most of the lower
48, into Mexico, Canada and Australia all in 2007.
While informing
fans across the world at sold out arenas about
professional bull riding Bates passion is simply
sports. “I love competition at any level. I think
that is why bull riding and rodeo appeal to me so
much. I know the sacrifice it takes to be a winner;
you have to risk it all every time. Also a former
competitor, Bates makes s no excuses when he admits
he did not have what it takes to make a career as a
bull rider. I could have struggled for years and
been mediocre but I wanted something else. Bull
riding is a sport where you are either the best or
your average and not many guys like being average.
I didn’t want to ride bulls for a living. There was
just a time when I thought I did. Thank God that
time has past.”
Now this career driven talent may be coming to a
sport near you. With interest in other sports,
Bates hopes to take his career to new levels,
NASCAR, Supercross, UFC and wherever the competition
level is the highest. That is where I want to be.
